Artwork Inspiration:

The great blue heron has always been one of my favorite birds. When I was younger, I would often watch for them out the car window and they seemed to be so rarely seen that I would get excited when I would spot one out in water or along a shoreline. As an adult, I often visit places around Olympia that are abundant in heron and other birds. They will always hold a special place in my heart causing that spark of excitement to spot one in the distance. This heron was painted as a reminder to always connect with that little spark of excitement for the little things along the way.
